Democratic Party Chairman Martin Lee in Brief West Coast Trip
Martin Lee today departs for a weekend trip to the US west coast, where
he will deliver two major speeches.
At noon on November 7, he will give the keynote address to the Business
for Social Responsibility's (BSR) Annual Conference in Los Angeles, at
the Sheraton Grande Hotel. His speech, "Human Rights -- Good Business
Sense," will address why the international business community should
be concerned about human rights and democracy. Previous BSR keynote speakers
have included Madeline Albright.
The Democratic Party Chairman then travels to Phoenix, Arizona to give
the keynote dinner speech at the 1997 Chairman's Summit, hosted by former
US Vice President Dan Quayle. The November 7 evening speech at the Arizona
Biltmore Hotel will be before a number of US governors and senators. He
will discuss "Why Freedom Matters" and review the important links
between economic and political freedom. Martin Lee then returns to Hong
Kong.
